This article explains how to connect Novus to your Slack workspace to receive automated updates about your analytics data. You can set up real-time notifications for new visitors, monitor specific actions, schedule recurring reports, and ask Novus questions directly in Slack.

Push Notifications:

You can configure Novus to alert you in Slack the moment a new visitor or account is detected in your application. When you enable a notification, Novus automatically configures the necessary webhooks behind the scenes, monitors your traffic, and formats an alert to send to your selected channel.

To enable system alerts:

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations > Slack.
  2. Locate the System Events section.
  3. Select the toggle next to New Visitor Created or New Account Created.
  4. In the Select Channel modal, open the dropdown and choose the Slack channel where you want to receive the alerts.
  5. Select Enable to apply your changes.

To change the delivery channel later, select the channel name under the event description to reopen the channel selector.

Track Event Alerts

Use Track Event notifications to get Slack alerts when users complete specific actions in your app. When you request a new alert, Novus translates your request into a specific event filter, connects to your Track Events, and formats the real-time alert for your Slack channel.

To create a new Track Event alert:

  1. Open Slack and go to the channel where you want to receive the alert.
  2. Mention Novus and describe the event you want to track. For example, "@novus notify me when checkout_completed fires".

To manage your existing Track Event alerts:

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations > Slack.
  2. Locate the Track Event Notifications section to view a table of your active alerts.
  3. Use the toggle under the Enabled column to turn an individual alert on or off.
  4. To remove an alert, select the More icon (three dots) next to the alert, then select Delete.
